Heating in Crowthorne

What we see in Crowthorne homes

Crowthorne is a village in Bracknell Forest, and its housing leans towards detached and semi-detached family homes, with a number of larger period properties among them.

Bigger homes bring a particular set of heating problems. Hot water demand is the usual one: several bathrooms drawing at the same time will expose a system that was adequate when the house had one. That is where an unvented cylinder often makes more sense than trying to stretch a combi beyond what it can deliver.

Larger properties also tend to have longer pipe runs and more radiators, which makes balancing the system properly the difference between rooms that heat evenly and rooms that never quite get there.

Crowthorne is one of our closest and most regularly covered areas.

Sam Sturgen

Underfloor heating for a rear extension and open plan kitchen

Sam was building a rear extension to open up the living space, with an open plan kitchen at the heart of it. Underfloor heating let us heat the whole area while keeping the floor at one level throughout, which mattered for the finish he was after.

It also freed up the walls. No radiators means more usable wall space, and nothing for the children to run into. We worked alongside the other trades on site so the heating was never the thing holding the build up.

FAQs

Common questions from Crowthorne homeowners

Do you cover Crowthorne and the nearby villages?

Yes. Crowthorne is one of the areas we work in most regularly, along with the surrounding villages.

We run out of hot water when more than one shower is on. What fixes that?

Usually an unvented cylinder. It stores hot water at mains pressure, so multiple showers and taps can run at once without the drop in flow you get when a combi is pushed past its output. We would survey the property first to confirm it is the right answer for your home.

Can you install underfloor heating in an existing house?

Yes, though it is most straightforward as part of an extension, refurbishment or new floor build-up. We design it around the layout of the property rather than fitting a standard arrangement.

Are your engineers Gas Safe registered?

Yes. All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers.
