New Boiler Installation in Wargrave
Wargrave sits between Reading and Henley and the housing reflects both: older village cottages on the one hand, larger riverside and detached properties on the other. Those two need very different boilers, so we survey before we quote rather than pricing from a postcode.
Installing in Wargrave
What an installation here actually involves
Wargrave is a village rather than a town, and the housing runs from small period cottages in the older streets through to substantial detached houses towards the river. Boiler work here is not one job repeated, it is two or three quite different jobs depending on which part of the village you are in.
In the older cottages the constraint is usually space and routing. There is often nowhere obvious for a modern boiler to go, the walls are solid rather than cavity, and the flue has to come out somewhere sensible without spoiling the front of the building.
In the larger properties the constraint is demand. Several bathrooms, sometimes an annexe or a converted outbuilding, and a hot water system that was designed for a smaller house than the one it now serves.
Matching the boiler to which Wargrave you live in
A two bedroom cottage and a five bedroom riverside house are not the same job and should not get the same quote. The smaller properties are often well served by a correctly sized combi, which keeps the installation simple and frees up space. The larger ones usually need a system boiler and a cylinder that can actually refill fast enough to keep up. Getting this wrong is the single most common reason people are unhappy with a new boiler, and it is decided at the survey, not at the point of fitting.

Common Questions
Boiler installation in Wargrave
Do you cover Wargrave?
Yes. Wargrave sits comfortably inside our normal working area, between Reading and Henley, and we are out there regularly.
There is nowhere obvious to put a boiler in my cottage. What are the options?
More than people expect. A boiler can often move to a different room entirely, provided the flue, the condensate drain and the gas supply can follow it. We look at the whole house at the survey rather than assuming the new one has to go where the old one was.
Will a combi cope with my house?
It depends on how many bathrooms you have and whether they get used at the same time. One bathroom, usually yes. Two or more, usually not without compromise. We size it against your actual hot water demand and tell you honestly which way it falls.
Is the water hard here?
Yes, much of this area has hard water, and it is worth fitting scale protection with a new boiler rather than after the first problem. We cover what that means on our Berkshire page.
